I DON’T DO MAD.

I DONT DO MAD, I DO HAPPY. AS AN ONLY CHILD ( MY PARENTS DIVORCED IN 1948 WHEN I WAS 5) I WAS ALONE A LOT AND I LEARNED TO BE HAPPY ALONE.
I learned to be happy from the weather, the garden, birds, books, music, and art, especially my own drawings. I learned to love my pets, a bird called Rocky and a cat called Fluffy. My mother was a Wash DC artist She was a wonderful oil painter. Her name was Ethel Kipnes Meisels and like my mother, DRAWING WAS MY JOY. I made my own happiness in my heart, with positive thoughts, ignoring the ugly and LETTING GO THE UGLY. I found that happiness spreads.
At 12 years old I started sewing and selling clothes to my wealthy Chevy Chase girlfriends and I learned an important life lesson, if I want to make a SALE I must NOT be affected by any negative comments of my CLIENTS. I let bad thoughts and bad comments fly over my head so as to not disrupt the PURPOSE, A SALE, and putting a good flattering dress on a woman.
At 20 I went to Paris with my best friend, MIA FONSSAGRIVES, and opened a boutique and fashion business MIA VICKY. We also became costume designers for the movies and with the backing of my new best friend, ELIZABETH TAYLOR our Paris fashion shows were covered by all the world press. How did I capture these celeb girlfriends? …..By spreading my life lesson to them « I Don’t Do Mad, I do Happy. » I will teach happiness by example.
In time I had a boutique in America in BERGDORF GOODMAN where I learned from befriending COCO CHANEL that if you wanted my dress you must pay me in advance and I would personally measure you, sketch your dress and sign it and most of all GIVE LIFE ADVISE. Women in their undies pour their hearts out. I learned to help the ladies simply because of my deep conviction that Happiness Spreads when you don’t do mad and you live to help others.
The long flower print dress I’m wearing I made in 1955 when I was 12 on my first Singer sewing machine. I’ve worn it for 66 years. It’s made of the first rayon stretch fabric. The Vicky Tiel purple tote with my sketches is a GWP (gift with purchase) at HSN when you buy my fragrance, My necklace is a collection of diamond jewels from my two husbands and 2 in-between boyfriends and my long chaînes are from my travels in Africa as well as the handmade belt from Namibia. My bedroom slippers are from Paris in the sixties.
